About Keystone

Joe McCrary was running operations for a large restoration company in DFW when he felt led to bring that experience to the Texas Hill Country. In 2026 he partnered with longtime custom home builder and pastor Zane Lewis II to open Keystone Response & Restoration in Kingsland — one local team, one number, answered around the clock.

Joe holds licenses and certifications in mold remediation, asbestos, water mitigation and fire restoration. Combined with Zane’s construction experience, the same team that identifies and removes the damage is there to put your home back together — water, fire, mold, trauma cleanup and complete reconstruction under one roof, from Kingsland and Marble Falls out to Llano, Burnet and Horseshoe Bay.

  • A person answers the phone — 2 a.m. on a holiday counts.
  • Every moisture reading is logged and handed to your adjuster.
  • One licensed crew from extraction through the final coat of paint.

The Drying Log · Five Steps

How It Works

Every Keystone job in Kingsland and the Highland Lakes runs the same five steps, in the same order, with one crew from the first phone call to the last coat of paint. The gauges below read a water loss — the waterline drops as the job advances. A fire, mold or trauma cleanup follows the identical sequence; only the readings change.

  1. 01

    Water in the structure

    You Call

A person answers, not a machine. We take the address, the damage and whether the power and water are off, then put a crew on the road.

    Answered 24 hours

  2. 02

    Loss mapped

    We Assess

On site we find the source, meter the walls, floors and cabinetry, photograph everything and write the scope before a single thing is torn out.

    Written scope first

  3. 03

    Drying to standard

    We Mitigate

Extraction, containment, HEPA air scrubbing and structural drying — with readings taken every day until the numbers hold, not until the fans look done.

    Daily moisture readings

  4. 04

    Dry standard met

    We Rebuild

Framing, drywall, texture, paint, flooring, trim and cabinetry put back by the same crew that took them out. One company start to finish.

    Same crew, no handoff

  5. 05

    Dry · signed off

    We Close Out

Final readings, a walkthrough with you, and the complete photo, moisture and scope file handed over for your records and your adjuster.

    Documented file

Licensed and insured for water mitigation, mold remediation, asbestos and fire restoration — and the photos, moisture logs and written scope are built as we go, formatted for your insurance adjuster.

What Our Clients Say

Verified Google reviews from Hill Country homeowners we’ve walked through water losses, mold jobs, fire damage and full rebuilds — the reason most of our work comes from someone we already helped.

  • I live near Marble. Falls. This company and Joe are great to work with.

  • I recently discovered a mold issue in my home and contacted Keystone Response and Restoration out of Llano County, Texas. From start to finish, they were absolutely incredible to work with. They were fast, fair, professional, and completely took the weight off my shoulders during a stressful situation. The entire process was quick and easy, and the quality of their work speaks for itself — you can’t even tell any work was ever done. That’s how good they are. The owner, Joe, personally inspected the job after everything was completed, which really showed how much they care about doing things the right way. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I just wanted everyone to know this is a great company to work with, and if I ever need restoration services again, I will not hesitate to call Keystone Response and Restoration.

  • When we discovered mold in our home, it was incredibly stressful. Keystone Response and Restoration turned what felt like an overwhelming situation into one we could finally breathe easy about. From the very beginning, they were responsive, honest, and compassionate. They came out quickly, explained everything in a way we could understand, and never made us feel pressured. Their pricing was very reasonable, and the quality of their work was outstanding. What impressed me most was how much they genuinely cared about doing the job right. They were thorough, professional, respectful of our home, and kept us informed throughout the entire process. By the time they were finished, we had complete confidence that our home was safe again. It’s rare to find a company that combines integrity, quality workmanship, and fair pricing the way Keystone Response and Restoration does. We are truly grateful for the peace of mind they gave our family, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone facing mold remediation or restoration needs. Thank you for taking such great care of us!

Frequently Asked Questions

Nobody plans for a burst supply line, a grease fire, or mold behind a bathroom vanity. These are the questions Hill Country homeowners and property managers ask us most — answered the way we'd answer them standing in your driveway.

Answered 24 hours

Still have a question?

Ask us before you tear anything out. There's no charge for the conversation, and it's the same crew on the phone that shows up at the door.

Our phone is answered by a person around the clock — not an answering service that takes a message and calls you back in the morning. We're based here in Kingsland, so a crew is usually rolling toward Llano and Burnet county addresses within the hour of that first call.

Speed is not a sales pitch on a water loss. Clean water starts migrating into drywall, insulation, and subfloor immediately, and after a couple of days it stops being a drying job and turns into a demolition job.

You get the number before we start. We walk the loss, measure the affected areas, and write the scope on the same industry estimating standard your insurance adjuster uses, so the line items line up with what the carrier expects to review rather than a napkin figure.

On an insured claim, most of the cost is settled between us and your carrier and your out-of-pocket is typically your deductible. On non-insured work — a small remediation, a reconstruction bid — you get a written scope to approve. If we find hidden damage behind a wall, you hear about it and approve the change before we keep going.

Every day. We document the loss from the first walk-through — photographs, moisture maps, a room-by-room scope, and daily drying logs — and send that file straight to your adjuster so the claim is decided on evidence rather than argument.

One thing worth knowing: your carrier may recommend a vendor from their program list, but the decision of who works on your home is yours. We can also handle the claim call with you on the line if you'd rather not make it alone.

Yes — fully licensed and insured, with general liability and workers' compensation carried on every job. Joe McCrary holds Texas licensing covering mold remediation, asbestos, water mitigation, and fire restoration.

That matters most on mold. Texas licenses mold remediation as a trade: a licensed remediator has to work to a written protocol, keep the containment honest, and issue you a certificate of mold damage remediation when the job closes. Anyone offering to "spray it and move on" is not doing that work.

Drying is the part with a real clock on it: most residential water losses reach dry standard in about three to five days. We set air movers and dehumidifiers, then take moisture readings every day and log them — equipment comes out when the meters say the structure is dry, not when the calendar says so.

Repairs are sized to the damage. A single wet room can be back together in a week or two; a fire or a whole-floor loss runs longer because framing, cabinetry, and flooring have to be ordered. You get a schedule in writing, and you hear from us when it changes.

We do both, and that is deliberate. The same company that tears out your wet drywall frames, hangs, tapes, floats, textures, and paints it back — plus flooring, trim, cabinets, countertops, and insulation. No handing you a bare stud wall and a list of subcontractors to chase.

One crew from the first call to the final walk-through means one point of accountability, one scope, and one schedule — and our workmanship is warranty-backed when the job closes.

Safety first: shut the water off at the main if you can reach it safely, and if water is anywhere near outlets or panels, kill power to those rooms at the breaker. Never run a household vacuum on standing water, and stay out of a fire-damaged structure until it has been cleared.

Then photograph everything before you move it — wide shots of each room, then close ups of the damage. Lift what you can carry to a dry room, and leave the rest. We bring the extraction equipment, the containment, and the moisture meters; you don't need to have anything ready for us.
