The state of Texas enacted the Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules (25 TAC Chapter 295) to protect property owners and occupants from improper mold handling. A licensed remediation contractor must follow strict protocols for containment, removal, and post-clearance verification. Unlicensed "mold removal" can spread contamination and invalidate your insurance claim.

Mold exposure can cause a range of health effects depending on the species, the individual, and the duration of exposure. The following groups are particularly vulnerable:
Coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and asthma attacks — especially in individuals with pre-existing conditions.
Runny nose, sneezing, red eyes, and skin irritation. Mold spores are a significant allergen even at low concentrations.
Prolonged exposure to certain mold species — including Stachybotrys (black mold) — can suppress immune function and cause systemic illness.
Mold cannot be permanently remediated without finding and fixing the moisture source. We use thermal imaging and moisture meters to identify all hidden water intrusion points.
Negative air pressure containment barriers prevent cross-contamination to unaffected areas. We establish decontamination chambers for all personnel entering the work zone.
Commercial HEPA air scrubbers run continuously during remediation, capturing mold spores and particulates as they are disturbed during removal.
Contaminated porous materials (drywall, insulation, wood framing) are removed and properly bagged for disposal. Non-porous surfaces are treated with HEPA vacuums and antimicrobial agents.
All affected structural surfaces receive EPA-registered antimicrobial treatment to eliminate remaining spores and inhibit future growth.
An independent third-party clearance test verifies that spore counts have returned to acceptable levels before we seal the structure. We coordinate all testing and provide full documentation.
